- Bring 1 cup filtered water to a gentle boil in a saucepan.
- Add cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, and cloves. Simmer for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Turn off the heat and add black tea bags. Steep for 3 minutes until the liquid turns deep amber.
- Remove tea bags and strain out the spices.
- Stir honey into the hot chai until fully dissolved.
- Let the chai cool to room temperature.
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
- Pour the cooled chai over the ice.
- Add cold whole milk and stir gently to combine.
Notes
Brew the chai slightly stronger than usual so the ice does not dilute the flavor.
