Method
- Cut the avocado. Use a knife and cutting board. Scoop avocado with a spoon.
- Add liquids to blender first. Pour almond milk into the blender.
- Add yogurt and sweetener.
- Add banana and avocado.
- Add spinach and matcha powder. Add ice if using.
- Blend on high for 30–45 seconds or until smooth. Then stop and scrape down with a spoon if needed. Texture should be thick and smooth.
- Pour into a glass. Serve cold and enjoy.
Notes
- Storage: Best fresh. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 24 hours in an airtight container. Shake or stir before drinking.
- Reheat: Do not heat. If it separates, blend again with a splash of milk. Use a blender.
- Variations: Swap almond milk for oat milk. Use 1 scoop vanilla protein powder for extra protein. Add 1 tbsp chia seeds for fiber. Use 1 tsp matcha for milder taste or 1½ tsp for stronger matcha kick.
- Safety tips: If using a high-power blender, avoid overfilling the jar. Use the lid and hold it down while blending.
- Health note: Matcha is high in antioxidants (EGCG) and contains L-theanine, which can promote calm alertness. Matcha also supplies a gentle caffeine boost. Limit matcha to 1–2 tsp per day depending on sensitivity.
