Bubble Tea

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 1 black tea bag
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup dried black tapioca pearls
  • 1 cup ice cubes

  • Electric Kettle
  • Measuring cups

Method
 

  1. Bring a saucepan of water to a rolling boil and add tapioca pearls.
  2. Cook for 12 minutes until the pearls turn soft and chewy with no white center.
  3. Drain the pearls and toss them with brown sugar while warm until glossy.
  4. Heat 1 cup filtered water to boiling and steep the black tea bag for 4 minutes until deep amber.
  5. Remove the tea bag and let the tea cool to room temperature.
  6. Add ice cubes to a tall glass.
  7. Spoon the sweetened tapioca pearls into the glass.
  8. Pour the cooled tea over the ice.
  9. Add whole milk and stir gently to combine.

Notes

Use the tapioca pearls within one hour of cooking to keep their signature chew.
