Ingredients

  • 2 cups uncooked Long-Grain Jasmine Rice
  • 3 cups hot Water
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 cup Broccoli Florets
  • 1/2 cup Carrots
  • 1/2 cup Red Bell Pepper
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 Spring Onions
  • 1 tsp Toasted Sesame Seeds for garnish

Equipment

  • Heavy-Bottomed Pot with a Tight-Fitting Lid
  • Small saucepan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine with hot water in a heavy-bottomed pot, cover, and cook over low heat for 15 minutes until water is absorbed. Let it rest, covered, for 5 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, steam broccoli florets until tender but bright green, about 3 minutes.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, sriracha, soy sauce, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth and heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Fluff the cooked rice with a fork and divide evenly into four bowls.
  5. Arrange steamed broccoli, carrots, and red bell pepper over the rice. Drizzle generously with the hot honey sauce.
  6. Garnish with spring onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Drizzle the hot honey sauce immediately over the warm rice to allow it to soak slightly and coat each grain for maximum flavor.
